What Is Going
On?
There are over 600,000 Registered Sex Offenders
in the United States. They are living in your town, in your neighborhood and on
your street.
The number of children being abused, molested and raped
is totally unacceptable.
We advocate legislation to force all Registered
Sex Offenders to live separately and far away from children.
Our strategy is a gradual and workable one,
beginning with the steps listed on our
Predator Patrol Strategy page.
Not enough
states have enacted Jessica's Law, and Megan's Law. It is time for all of us to make child
abuse something that always has serious consequences - for the abuser!

FACT:
There is no reason that offenders cannot be both incarcerated and
rehabilitated in prison, where they can't hurt any more children!

Despite
O'Reilly's constant blaming the left for
weak laws and almost non-existent sentencing regarding child abuse, it has
nothing to do with left and right. It has to do with stupid and lazy. Judges
who think that a child molester should be rehabilitated instead of
incarcerated are just plain stupid. Prosecutors who claim it is too "risky" to
pursue a conviction because the victim may not be a good witness or may be
harmed by confronting their molester are just lazy.

FACT: There needs to be a Federal statute
equivalent to Jessica's Law and Megan's Law. Child Molestation is as destructive and harmful
as kidnapping, if not more so.

Not being a
genius TV talking head, I will not even guess why any state has not accepted
Jessica's Law and Megan's Law. I will leave that
judgment to those who are obviously much smarter than I am (just ask
any commentator, they'll tell you they're smarter than pretty much everyone else!).
But I will say that it is time for the citizens of the states who have not
adopted this law, to take that giant bowl of Orville off their engorged
bellies, get up from their Lazy Boys, and do something about this situation, once
and for all.

WE BELIEVE THAT IF
JUDGES FEEL THAT REHABILITATION IS CALLED FOR, THAT REHABILITATION SHOULD BE
GRANTED, WITHIN CERTAIN GUIDELINES:
-
Mandatory minimum sentences according
to Jessica's Law and Megan's Law should
still be automatically handed down and served, no exceptions, no plea bargains, no deals.
-
Rehabilitation should take
place in secure confinement, at specially designated facilities.
-
All internees at a specific
location should be convicted child molesters.
-
These centers should be
established at any number of remote, abandoned military bases which have
acceptable shelter, running water, electricity, sanitation and secure
perimeters.
-
Counselors would make
regular visits or be on staff to effect rehabilitation.
The rehabilitation for offenders would include
full-time employment growing their own food, and maintaining the facility.
-
Internees would be provided
with sufficient food for a period determined necessary for one growing season.
Internees would be provided with seeds, fertilizer, gardening tools and manuals
on growing food.
-
Any surplus food would be
sold at fair market prices and the internees permitted to spend any revenues
after paying for water, electricity, counseling and guards salaries.
NO LONGER WOULD OUR SOCIETY
BE BURDENED WITH THE EXPENSE OF FEEDING THESE MOST VICIOUS CRIMINALS, NOR PROVIDING AIR
CONDITIONING, TV, LIBRARIES, WEIGHT ROOMS OR FREE MEDICAL CARE, WHICH EVEN THE
MOST LAW ABIDING, BUT POOR CITIZENS OF OUR COUNTRY DON'T HAVE.*
*An interesting sidebar: An American citizen's
business in Thailand was wiped out by the tsunami. For the past almost three years, he has been trying unsuccessfully to
get some kind of assistance to put his life back together. Although the U.S.
government, the Thai government and hundreds of NGOs have generously and
correctly poured
relief money in to help the Thai victims, the U.S. government
has no facility by which an American can get a loan in these circumstances.
(Although he could get a Pell grant to go to hairdressing school!)
For
seven months he lived on one bowl of rice or noodles every day. His weight
dropped from 159 lbs to 136 lbs. But there was no help available from our
government. Yet, if he returned to the States and robbed a bank or worse, the
government would spend at least $20,000 a year for the next five years to
provide him with a place to live, three meals a day, free medical care, and all
the other prison "luxuries" which he cannot now afford.
These luxuries are being provided every day by
you, the taxpayer, to child molesters in our prisons, seemingly as a reward for not
only being misguided enough to commit a crime but stupid enough to get caught!
THIS MAKES NO SENSE TO ME. There is no reason why these criminals cannot work for a
living like everyone else, AND WE SHOULD START WITH THOSE THAT HURT CHILDREN.
ENOUGH ALREADY!

FACT:
Over 90% of all child molestation occurs within the extended family. And
because of this, most goes unreported.
|
In addition to
mobilizing to get the federal government and state legislatures to adopt Jessica's Law
and Megan's Law,
we believe that more preventative measures are needed to stop this horrific
massacre of our children's minds, bodies and spirits. This is a huge problem
since it requires pro-active intervention for an activity usually well hidden.

We would like to
make the following suggestions (and yes, to endure the verbal thrashing of
critics) for beginning a strategy of prevention, rather than waiting to counsel
victims after they have been hurt:
 |
1)
Courses of audio-visual
media should be developed by child psychologists that will subtly but clearly
teach children what constitutes acceptable and unacceptable behavior by adults
towards children. These courses should be presented to all school children at
as early an age as is psychological feasible. |

Included should also be a clearly
defined and easily accessible course of action for a child
who believes s/he is being molested, including notification of authorities. These can be
cartoons, videos, coloring books, story books, puppets, anything. Children
who are being molested must always know they have an escape available to them. |
And
to provide early detection of abuse that is already occurring:

2) Frequent,
random physical and psychological "exams" of all school children to look for
indications of abuse. Developed by professionals, these can be done
unobtrusively as part of regularly scheduled school medical exams to avoid alarming the
children, or allowing abusers to prevent their victims from being examined. |
